
Chiara Milan is currently Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow at the Centre for Southeast European Studies of the University of Graz, Austria. She holds a PhD in Political and Social Sciences from the European University Institute. Prior to joining the Centre for Southeast European Studies, she has been a post-doctoral Research Fellow at the Scuola Normale Superiore (Italy), where she is a member of the Center for Social Movement Studies (COSMOS) research team. Her research interests include social movements and contentious politics, nationalism, ethnicity, citizenship and migration, with a specific focus on Southeastern Europe. On these topics, she has published several articles in international journals and chapters in edited volumes. She is the author of the monograph “Social Mobilization beyond Ethnicity. Civic activism and grassroots mobilization in Bosnia and Herzegovina” (Routledge, 2020).
